Youth for Policy Executive Committee Charts Ambitious Path for 2025

The Youth for Policy (YfP) Executive Committee is committed to driving youth leadership, policy advocacy, and inclusive development in 2025, focusing on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and empowering marginalized communities. At a recent learning-sharing meeting, the committee outlined a strategic roadmap to foster gender equality, social inclusion, and locally led solutions, aiming to reform Bangladesh’s future through youth-driven initiatives.

Held on December 23, 2024, at the BRAC Learning Center in Uttara, the event brought together 140 Executive Committee members, along with IID CEO Syeed Ahamed, Youth for Policy Focal Sultana Mehjabin Tushi, and Coordinator Probin Tripura, who led engaging and thought-provoking sessions. The discussions emphasized building leadership skills, improving engagement with local authorities, and creating inclusive programs that amplify underrepresented voices.

Key strategies included quarterly event planning, locally tailored initiatives at the district and upazila levels, and recognizing exemplary contributions through “Best Committee” and “Best Volunteer” awards. Plans to expand representation by appointing Campus Ambassadors, Institutional Representatives, and Upazila Representatives aim to ensure diverse participation across all regions of Bangladesh.

The committee prioritized logistical support, such as ID cards, T-shirts, visiting cards, and recommendation letters, to empower volunteers effectively. Capacity-building sessions will enhance leadership, communication, time management, teamwork, and adaptability, equipping members to address complex community challenges.

In 2025, YfP will launch impactful projects targeting digital inclusion, clean water access, gender-based violence, waste management, and urban planning. Gender and social inclusion will remain central to these efforts, with initiatives promoting equitable access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunities for marginalized and minority communities. Specific district-based projects include addressing river pollution in Nilphamari, tackling waterlogging in Barishal, and improving education for underprivileged communities in Faridpur.

With a clear vision for youth leadership and inclusive development, YfP aims to align its programs with SDG goals, fostering intergenerational dialogue and inspiring meaningful reform. By championing gender equality, social inclusion, and localized problem-solving, YfP is poised to lead transformative change across Bangladesh in 2025.
