Honoring Outstanding Contributions of Young Changemakers

Youth volunteers from across Bangladesh were recognized for their exceptional leadership, impactful community advocacy, and contributions to policy development at an inspiring award ceremony. The event celebrated the transformative role of young changemakers in addressing pressing societal challenges through innovation, skill development, and collective action. By spotlighting the achievements of these individuals and committees, the ceremony reinforced the importance of youth-led initiatives in driving meaningful change.

This award ceremony was the centerpiece of the two-day Youth Policy Summit 2024, held on December 21–22 in Dhaka. Organized by IID and Youth for Policy (YfP), the summit brought together 400 youth representatives, policymakers, civil society leaders, and experts. Participants engaged in intergenerational dialogue and collaborative discussions on critical issues such as employment inequality, structural reforms, and the inclusion of youth in policymaking processes. The summit served as a dynamic platform for young leaders to exchange ideas and shape solutions for a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The awards highlighted outstanding contributions in various categories. Saiful Islam of the YfP Chittagong Committee received the Best Volunteer Award 2024 for his leadership and community advocacy. Ripon Mridha of the YfP Moulvibazar Committee was honored as the Best Emerging Leader 2024 for his efforts to empower tea worker communities.

Committees were also recognized for their remarkable achievements. The YfP Dinajpur Committee was named Best Committee of the Year 2024, while the YfP Sirajganj Committee earned the Best Committee in Advocacy award. Excellence in reporting was celebrated with awards to the YfP Khulna and Bogura Committees. Meanwhile, the YfP Bandarban Committee was honored as the Best Emerging Committee of 2024 for its rapid growth and impactful initiatives.

The event demonstrated the power of youth-driven leadership in shaping public policy and fostering community resilience. IID and YfP remain steadfast in their mission to equip young changemakers with the tools and opportunities to create lasting, positive change in society.
